AG OCIPE – Rapport en Français

This article was posted in Documentation.

GA OCIPE – Report in English

This article was posted in Documentation.

Budapest: since 2006 the Budapest office has employed one full-time worker Ferenc Lindeisz, and one part-time, Zoltán Dudás, who was Associate Director. The office had its own Board. Later, Szabolcs Szigeti joined the team, also part-time. In 2010 there was a major change. Szabolcs Szigety joined the World Health Organisation, then Zoltán Dudás (who had worked for the city of Budapest as his primary job) was ‘head-hunted’ for a post by the new Hungarian Government. Finally, Ferenc also left. A new full-time director was appointed in November, Mr Gergely Ternovszky, who works alone in the office. The Board has been dissolved, since it seemed an unnecessarily heavy structure for a team of one person, and Gergely is now directly accountable to the Provincial of Hungary P. Tamás Forrai (who visited us in Brussels last week, as Gergely had already done). Continue reading

“It’s your choice…” – Election Memorandum

In June, Europeans elect the members of the next European Parliament. The European Union seems to many a bureaucratic entity far removed from Europe’s citizens. But a careful vote in the elections is one way of strengthening the democratic accountability of the EU.
We at the Jesuit European Office in Brussels have chosen to focus briefly on certain themes that seem to us to deserve voters’ particular attention.
